Capstone Outreach vs YouSpot
Two products aimed at the same person. One is a second brain that happens to have CRM tools in it. The other is a follow-up machine that happens to have a CRM in it. That difference decides which one you want.
The short answer. YouSpot's job is capture and recall: save everything, then ask questions about it. Capstone Outreach's job is action: meet someone, the follow-up is drafted from the meeting or the card, you approve it, and it sends from your own inbox, number or WhatsApp, in under a minute. If your problem is remembering, YouSpot is cheaper and very good at it. If your problem is that the follow-up never goes out, that is what Capstone is for.

What YouSpot is
YouSpot is HubSpot Next's AI-native solo CRM, launched by HubSpot co-founder Dharmesh Shah for one-person companies: solopreneurs, consultants, speakers, writers, creators. Its pitch is a "second brain" built from your business context that remembers what you would otherwise miss. You chat with it inside YouSpot, or connect it to ChatGPT, Claude or any MCP-capable app through its MCP connector, and it supports cloud agents that work on your behalf. It launched at $10 a month, pay as you go, with a $1 introductory price for the first thousand customers. It is explicitly not for teams with a go-to-market function; those are sent to HubSpot proper.
That is a real product from a serious company, and for the job it describes, remembering everything and letting you ask about it, the price is hard to argue with.
What Capstone Outreach is
Capstone Outreach starts from a meeting, a business card or a booked call, and ends with a sent message. Scan the card and the follow-up is drafted from what you talked about. Turn on auto-record and an AI notetaker joins your Zoom, Meet, Teams and Webex calls, routes each attendee to a contact, and a follow-up per attendee is waiting when the call ends. Texts and WhatsApp messages queue to your phone and go out from your own number or account. Everything is reviewed by you, and sent from your own Gmail or Outlook. The CRM is inside, holding every meeting and message per person, but the CRM is the plumbing. The follow-up is the product.
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or OpenClaw and the agent you already pay for can run it: record this meeting, what did I promise Dana, who went cold last quarter, make the draft firmer. It proposes; it never sends.
Side by side
| YouSpot | Capstone Outreach | |
|---|---|---|
| Core job | Capture and recall: save everything, ask questions about it | Act: meet someone, draft the follow-up, you approve, it sends |
| The primitive | The note | The meeting, and the person in it |
| Where the AI lives | Chat inside YouSpot with your choice of model; MCP connector as a second path | Your agent is the front door; Capstone is the tool it uses. It does not try to be your AI |
| Send authority | Cloud agents that do things on your behalf | Proposes, never sends. A person approves; sends go from your own inbox |
| Meetings | Not part of the launch pitch | AI notetaker for Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex; per-attendee drafts; auto-record that skips internal meetings |
| Capture in the field | Desk-first, per the launch post: forwarded email, browser extension, connectors | Business card and QR scan, voice notes, events directory, texts and WhatsApp from your own phone |
| Agent access | MCP connector | MCP connector with OAuth, scoped tokens, audit log; fourteen tools; no tool can approve or send |
| Price | $10/month ($1 intro for the first 1,000) | Starter $25, Pro $45; meeting recordings metered (20 / 200 a month); agent access included |

When to pick YouSpot
Your problem is memory, not motion. You want one place to forward emails and clip pages, and you want to ask it what you know about someone before a call. You do not send follow-ups from your CRM, or you send them rarely enough that drafting by hand is fine. You want the cheapest possible tool that still feels AI-native, and you like watching a product get built in public.
When to pick Capstone Outreach
You meet people for a living: events, conferences, intro calls, estimates, consults. The thing that leaks is the follow-up, not the notes. You want the meeting to end with the message already drafted, in your voice, and you want to approve it on your phone and have it go from your own address. You want texts and WhatsApp for the people who never answer email. And you would rather give the AI you already pay for a job than adopt another chat window.
Can you use both?
Yes, and it is not a strange setup. Both expose an MCP connector, so one Claude or ChatGPT session can use YouSpot as the memory and Capstone Outreach as the follow-up backend. Capstone keeps its own per-contact record of every meeting and message regardless, so nothing depends on the other tool being there.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between YouSpot and Capstone Outreach?
YouSpot is HubSpot Next's AI-native solo CRM: a second brain that captures your business context so you can ask it questions, in its own chat or through an MCP connector. Capstone Outreach is a follow-up machine: you meet someone, the follow-up is drafted from the meeting or the card, you approve it, and it sends from your own Gmail, Outlook, number or WhatsApp. One remembers; the other sends.
Does Capstone Outreach send follow-ups for me?
It drafts and queues them; you approve every send, and approved messages go out from your own inbox, number or WhatsApp. An AI agent connected to Capstone can propose and revise but can never approve or send. That is a deliberate stance.
Can I use YouSpot and Capstone Outreach together?
Yes. Both expose an MCP connector, so the same Claude or ChatGPT session can use YouSpot as the memory and Capstone Outreach as the follow-up backend. Capstone also keeps its own record of every meeting and message per contact.
Why is Capstone Outreach more expensive than YouSpot?
YouSpot launched at $10 a month with a $1 introductory price. Capstone Outreach is $25 (Starter) or $45 (Pro). The difference pays for the two things a second brain does not do: an AI notetaker that records your meetings, which costs money per recording, and the sending, which is the part that turns a contact into a booked meeting.
